Terms of Service
The agreement between your shop and us: licences, payment, and what each side owes.
Last updated 16 August 2026
These terms govern your use of LalKitaab, supplied by Dacitos Technologies Pvt Ltd. Installing or using the application means you accept them.
Your licence
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to run LalKitaab on the number of computers your plan covers, for as long as your subscription is paid. You own your data; we own the software.
- One licence key covers a set number of computers, shown on your order.
- Moving to a replacement computer is free — contact support and we will release the seat.
- You may not resell, sub-licence, rent out or redistribute the application.
- You may not reverse engineer or modify it, except where the law expressly allows it.
Trial
A free trial runs from first launch, with every feature of the Offline plan enabled. When it ends the application does not lock you out of your records: it stops accepting new entries, and you can still open your books, run every report, export your data and take backups.
Plans, payment and renewal
Prices are shown on the Pricing page in Indian Rupees and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Your plan covers the period you paid for.
If a period ends without renewal, the application behaves exactly as it does after a trial: it stops accepting new entries after a short grace window, and never stops you reading, exporting or backing up your own records.
Your data and your customers
Your shop's records are yours. Where those records contain personal data about your own customers or staff, you are responsible for how you collect and use it; we process it only in the limited ways described in the Privacy Policy, and on the Offline plan we do not receive it at all.
You are responsible for keeping backups and for keeping your backup passphrase safe. Encryption is only as recoverable as the key you hold — if you lose it, nobody, including us, can decrypt that file.
Acceptable use
- Do not use LalKitaab to break the law, or to store data you have no right to hold.
- Do not attempt to defeat licensing, share keys, or run more installations than your plan covers.
- On the trade network, only send documents to partners who have accepted a link with you.
Availability
The desktop application is designed to work without a connection and does not depend on our servers to run day to day. Online services — activation, renewal, online backup and the trade network — are provided as-is and may be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control.
Warranties and liability
LalKitaab is supplied without warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
We are not liable for loss of data where you did not keep backups the software repeatedly offered to make, or for business losses arising from figures entered incorrectly.
Ending the agreement
You may stop using LalKitaab at any time; see the Refund Policy for money already paid. We may suspend or end a licence if it is being used in breach of these terms, and we will tell you why. Ending a licence does not delete the data on your computer — that stays yours and remains readable and exportable.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Mumbai, India have exclusive jurisdiction.
