Deleting Your Data
How to have your account and personal data removed, and what we must keep.
Last updated 16 August 2026
You can ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you at any time. This page says exactly what that removes, what we are obliged to keep, and what it means for your shop.
How to ask
- Email privacy@dacitos.com from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my data".
- Include your licence key or order number so we can be sure it is you. We may ask one further question to confirm identity — we will never ask for your password or your backup passphrase.
- We acknowledge within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days, then confirm in writing.
What is deleted
- Your customer record: name, shop name, phone, email and GSTIN.
- Your support tickets and the notes on them.
- Your encrypted online backups, if you have any. These are destroyed, not archived — and because we never held the key, there is nothing left to read even in principle.
- Trade network documents you sent or received, subject to the note below.
- Your licence and its machine bindings, which means the application will stop accepting new entries on your computers.
What we have to keep
- Payment and invoice records, because Indian tax and companies law requires us to keep them for several years. These are financial records of a transaction, not a marketing profile, and we do not use them for anything else.
- A minimal record that a licence key was issued and later deleted, so the same key cannot be re-used or disputed.
- The other side of a trade document. A document you sent to a wholesaler is also their business record, and we cannot delete their copy on your instruction, any more than we could recall a paper invoice you handed over.
Before you ask
Deletion cannot be undone, and it ends your ability to activate LalKitaab on a new computer with that key. Export anything you want to keep first — Reports → Export, and a fresh backup — both of which work whatever state your licence is in.
Deleting just one thing
You do not have to delete everything. If you only want a phone number corrected, a support ticket removed or a backup destroyed, say so in the same email and we will do that instead. Write to privacy@dacitos.com.
